Cat Empire

Music Monday: The Cat Empire
So, this past weekend was amazing because I spent it in New York City with my sister doing some fun things. First, we went to Brooklyn for the Brooklyn Flea. It is a decent size flea market filled with vintage clothes, homemade items and hidden treasures. It was my first time there and it was a lot of fun. There are an abundance of really interesting objects and people.

After we finished browsing, we went over to Williamsburg for Smorgasburg. It is a great name for a giant gathering of 75-100 vendors with packaged, prepared foods and beverages from various people from NYC and the region. On Saturdays it is at East River State Park (Kent Ave. & North 7th st.) on Williamsburg waterfront and on Sundays it is at the DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) waterfront in Brooklyn Bridge park. I had an amazing grilled cheese from Milk Truck Grilled Cheese and than I had an ice cream sandwich from The Good Batch.

To end the day we went to go see an amazing concert at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square. We saw an australian band, The Cat Empire, and they are hard to define but they are latin, jazz, hip hop and many other genres because they are always changing their sound. It is also hard to define because a lot of their performance is improvised energy and they play differently each night. Their music is just fun and even better live.
