I know this movie has been out for a while, but I just saw it this past weekend and I have to say that it is a great zombie/romantic comedy movie. The novel was written by Isaac Marion and got great reviews and the story is similar to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Aside from the story being genius, funny and just awesome, the soundtrack that accompanied it was great too.
It includes music from Bruce Springsteen, Guns N' Roses, Bon Iver, Feist and Chad Valley. The mix of new and old music suited the movie and I loved that it wasn't just one genre. I am a big fan of zombie movies and this one is different and new even though the story may have been used many times before.
My favorite song/scene in the movie was when R and Julie take a drive out in the empty tarmac while Shell Suite by Chad Valley is playing. It is a great song and fits perfectly with the scene.
Sitting in Limbo- Jimmy Cliff
Missing You- Jimmy Waite
The Bad in Each other- Feist
Be the Song- Foy Vance
Patience- Guns N' Roses
Shell Suite- Chad Valley
Hungry Heart- Bruce Springsteen
Shelter from the Storm- Bob Dylan
Hinnom, TX- Bon Iver
Yamaha- Delta Spirit
Oh, Pretty Woman- Roy Orbison
Midnight City- M83
Runaway- The National
Numbers Don't Lie- The Mynabirds
Concerto in A Minor for Flute, Oboe Strings- Symphony Orchestra INSO Lemberg
Rock You Like a Hurricane- Scorpions
If you haven't seen this movie before I highly suggest you watch it because you will love it.
