Over the past few weeks, designers in London and Paris have been showing their menswear collections for fall 2014. Menswear has not had much change since it became what we all know, the three piece suit, in the mid to late 1800's. Lately though, menswear has become more and more casual leading designers to have fun and create new trends for mens fashion. I am intrigued with the designers that take risks and show mens fashion in a new way. These are just a few of my favorites.
McQ Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen is one of my favorite designers and this label is known for taking risks and showing something new. This menswear collection is more wearable than many of the women's looks seen on the runways but it is still striking. I absolutely love the patterns on the pants and the color scheme of black, red and white. It has a somewhat grizzly camping feel but keeping with the steam punk theme of the brand.
Vivienne Westwood

Vivienne Westwood is one of the most out there designers right now and always has exciting runway shows with crazy new designs. Her menswear collection for fall 14 is one of the more wearable collections she has ever done but it has a strong message behind it. She says this is a statement on fracking and is evident through the dark color palette, leather and jet black oily hair. Many of these items can easily be seen waking down the street which is not always the case with Vivienne Westwoods collections. As the show continues, it progressively becomes brighter in color and wild patterns which is more like Vivienne Westwood.
Burberry Prorsum

Burberry Prorsum is one of my favorite brands and is the epitome London fashion. This collection is a mix of masculine and feminine with an artists journey as the inspiration. It is filled with silk scarves draped over their shoulders, large bags with bold patterns as well as blouse type shirts and coats with bright patterns. Some looks appear feminine but designer Christopher Bailey believes the collection is for very confident men that wear the silk scarves and it shouldn't make a difference. Burberry always displays very wearable fashions and these could most definitely be seen on the streets of London.
