Fashion Week Continued
There is just one final day of New York City Fashion Week before the attention is sent over the pond to London Fashion Week. It has been a great week for fashion and I have been noticing that many designers were influenced or inspired by the 1930's and 1940's. It is interesting when a certain silhouette becomes a trend and is seen everywhere. There were so many great designers this week and Its quite difficult to keep up with it all, but here are a few of my favorites.

Badgley Mischka was inspired by the fashions of the 1920's and 1930's in terms of the silhouettes as well as the glitz. These looks are beautiful and could be worn for the modern woman. Also, they design for real people which is evident in this collection.

Michael Kors has once again shown a collections full of fabulous clothes for all women. It also has influences of 1940's silhouettes and 1970's fabric choices. It is a relaxed collection with earth tones as well as muted florals. I love the way the bathing suit tops pair effortlessly with pencil skirts and cardigans although I'm not quite sure who would wear that.

Moving away from the 1930's influences, Narciso Rodriguez created a beautifully simple collection. It may seem that the collection's silhouette is quite flat, but as it progresses, the construction becomes more complex but without looking overworked. They are shift dresses with an added element that makes them more than just another dress. I absolutely love the pink dress with the darker panel underneath.

Now, for my absolute favorite designers, Proenza Schouler. They are always making new and interesting textiles as well as just awesome clothes. Similar to their Fall 2013 collection, the color palette was black, white, beige with added touches of silver. I am always an advocate for black and white all year round which may be why I love this collection so much. Also, the constructed tops paired with long flowy skirts is very bold.
